Congruous (kòng´gru-es) adj.
1. Corresponding in character or kind; appropriate or harmonious.
Mr. Mendick,
I received your mailing with no small amount of amusement and felt compelled
to respond right away with a few observations. As you will remember, your envelope
contained only a business card with a short message scrawled on the back that
you could refer me to potential clients. This was perhaps the most unprofessional
solicitation that I have ever received, and from a company called Professional
Introduction Service, no less. Incidentally, the aforementioned business card
contained a misspelling in the name of your home town. I find that the way in
which you do business is not congruous with the implied promise in your company
name, and I cannot do business with you as a result. Furthermore, I certainly
am not inspired to give you any money, which is, I'm sure, where you were eventually
headed with this. Thank you for your time, and for extending your offer, but
I'm afraid I must decline. Thank You.
Sincerely,
Back
