"Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn

This book was recommended to me by my literature Professor, who described it only as "life-changing". When the printed word is the skill that pays the bills, and a book makes that kind of impression, I'm interested in knowing more. I wasn't disapointed.

The book begins, more or less, with a newspaper ad that reads: "Teacher seeks pupil. Must have an earnest desire to save the world. Apply in person." The story that follows is basically a framework for a series of dialogues about civilization and man's place in the world. It is thought-provoking material that may change the way you look at the world.
